Lola Consuelos believes there’s an invisible string connecting her to boyfriend Cassius Kidston.

On the Tuesday, June 24 episode of SiriusXM’s Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa podcast, Lola, 24, opened up to her mother, host Kelly Ripa, about meeting Kidston, 25, in a place that was “special” to both of them.

Lola — whom Ripa shares with her husband, Mark Consuelos — revealed that she and Kidston first met on vacation. The meeting was particularly serendipitous, because they discovered they had vacationed in the same place throughout their childhoods, but never met.

“We both grew up going to a place that is special to both of us,” the “Paranoia Silverlining” singer shared, before explaining to Ripa, 54, that she’s a big believer in the invisible string theory, which posits that there’s a string connecting soulmates even if they don’t realize it.

Lola explained, “It’s basically the idea that you and your partner who you’re with, whether that be someone that you end up marrying or just together for a long time, probably have had an invisible connecting string in some shape or form, and their meeting is inevitable.”

For Lola and Kidston, that string included a shared vacation spot. “It’s so crazy that we both grew up going to this very small island, and because he’s not from the U.S. and because I am from the U.S., we would go on these vacations at different times,” she said.

“But it’s so crazy because we have a lot of the same memories growing up at this place. Like, I’ll make a weird reference — they had this scuba diving class called the Bubble Makers or something — and it’s such a random thing, but it’s a reference that I know he understands, even though we didn’t experience it together,” Lola added.

She noted the locals were familiar with both of them. “We get very close to the locals, and they’ve known us both growing up individually and have watched us go from little kids to the adults, but probably would’ve never expected that Lola from New York, the little chunky cheek girl in her bikini, tanned and all would be dating this boy from Switzerland, pale and tall,” Lola told her mom.

Lola and Kidston first hinted at their relationship in 2023, but aside from the occasional social media post, they’ve largely kept the details of their romance under wraps.

Interestingly, Lola also said that despite their special connection, it wasn’t love at first sight when she met Kidston.

“We did not like each other when we first met,” she revealed. “And I always say this to everyone that I meet, that I think the reason we don’t find ourselves truly arguing that much is because we kind of got it all out of our systems when we first met each other.”

On April 27, the singer celebrated her anniversary with Kidston on Instagram. She posted a carousel of photos featuring the two posing in an elevator and showing some PDA alongside the caption, “another year of pure magic♡‿♡you’re heavenly.”
