‘He Deserves Better’: Todd Chrisley Gets Brutally Honest on Chase’s Proposal Disaster
As it turns out, the Chrisleys may not know best.
At least, that was the case for Chase Chrisley, whose girlfriend Jodi Laine Fournerat rejected his marriage proposal after he popped the question inside their bedroom.
So, what does family patriarch Todd Chrisley think of Chase’s gesture? For one, he’s excited about the prospect of his son starting a new chapter.
“I want him to have a wonderful, beautiful personal life with a relationship that feeds his soul,” Todd, 56, shared in a confession during the Sept. 16 episode of The Chrisleys: Back to Reality. “[With someone] that is going to be a wonderful mother to his children, that’s going to be a great wife. Someone that I’m gonna like, that’s important.”
However, the Chrisley Knows Best alum admitted that he still doesn’t know much about Jodi, who Chase started dating while Todd was in prison on tax fraud charges. (He was released in May after being pardoned by President Donald Trump.)
“Jodi was there the day that we got home, but that was five minutes I think that I spoke to her,” Todd said. “There’s been really no interaction between us and Jodi.”
Especially since Chase and his sister Savannah Chrisley have hit a rough patch in their relationship. As Jodi explained in her own confessional, “I feel things are said about me without actually knowing me, whenever other people in the family aren’t very fond of him, I’m linked to that.”
“Maybe I’m not what they want me to be or whatever,” the influencer continued, “just because they may disagree with Chase.”
Still, Jodi does want to take the next steps with her boyfriend of two years. In fact, she told Chase after he got down on one knee, “I’m not turning you down. I’m turning down the environment.”
“I was like ‘Chase, get up,'” Jodi recalled of the proposal, which she said took place right after Chase had gotten out of the shower. “We’re not doing this right here, we’re not doing this right now.”
