‘General Hospital’ dominates 2025 Daytime Emmys with a leading 7 awards: See the complete list of winners

The Young and the Restless was practically The Young and the Emmy-less at the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday.

Josh Kelly, Kristina Wagner, Cynthia Watros, Donnell Turner, Tanisha Harper, Jon Lindstrom, Laura Wright, Kate Mansi, Sofia Mattsson, Tabyana Ali, Katelyn MacMullen, Eden McCoy, Brook Kerr, Evan Hofer, Vernee Watson-Johnson, Frank Valentini and Rebecca Herbst pose with the Emmy Award for Best Daytime Drama Series for “General Hospital” at the 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel on December 15, 2023 in Los Angeles, California.

Despite coming into the evening with a leading 19 nominations, and topping the Gold Derby prediction odds, Y&R only claimed a single trophy.

Instead, it was rival General Hospital that emerged victorious. The venerable soap, which had 16 nods, tallied a leading seven awards.

Days of Our Lives had 13 bids and won two. All three soaps were up for Best Drama Series (there were only three nominees this year due to a new rule regarding submissions).

Other big winners included The Drew Barrymore Show, which won three awards, including Best Talk Host — Drew Barrymore‘s first-ever Emmy — and critters who live on the down-low: The Secret Lives of Animals and Secret Lives of Orangutans each notched three statuettes.

In winning for the latter show, 99-year-old David Attenborough became the oldest Daytime Emmy winner.

Alley Mills (General Hospital) won the first award of the night for Best Drama Guest Performer, her second career Emmy. Soon after, that show’s writing and directing teams took home trophies of their own.

The supporting prizes went to Jonathan Jackson (General Hospital), his sixth victory, and first-time nominee Susan Walters (The Young and the Restless). And Lisa Yamada (The Bold and the Beautiful) triumphed in the brand new category of Best Emerging Talent.

Paul Telfer (Days of Our Lives) won his first Emmy Award as Best Drama Actor, upsetting Gold Derby’s predicted frontrunner, Peter Bergman (The Young and the Restless).

Best Drama Actress went to Nancy Lee Grahn (General Hospital), her third career trophy, instead of the presumptive favorite, Eileen Davidson (The Young and the Restless).

Meanwhile, Live With Kelly and Mark prevailed for Best Talk Series in an upset over The Kelly Clarkson Show and journalist Deborah Norville received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Honor from presenter Deirdre Hall.
