BIG REVEALRS!! Sophia asked Melinnda to 𝚔𝚒𝚍𝚗𝚊𝚙 Trey for her Days of Our Lives Spoilers

She’s already convinced Rachel to be her little sidekick, and she’s figured out how to slip in and out of Bayview without anyone the wiser.

If there’s hardly anyone around to catch her, then whatever she’s been cooking up has got to be happening soon!

Our bet? Sneaking in and out to torment Johnny and Chanel in some kind of misguided attempt to force them to give up Trey.

The one thing she’s wanted to prevent has come to pass and knowing Sophia, she’ll have some kind of plan to mess it all up. And even better, if no one knows she can leave Bayview at will, she has the perfect alibi to get away with it.

With that said, when Rachel Boyd spoke with us a little while back, she offered a bit of a different take on her character than a lot of fans may see.

“It’s funny because I always see things online or just people have put Sophia in this box of a ‘villain,’” she shared. “And I just really don’t see her that way.

I think Sophia is capable of doing villainous things in the name of pursuing her own motivations and what she wants and what she thinks is right. And I actually think that’s really cool and really strong. I think she’s a hero to me.”

Of course, whether she can actually shake that “villain” moniker probably depends a whole lot on what happens next. Are Johnny and Chanel in danger? Is Trey?

Sophia went out of her way to give him up, but her mental state has definitely crumbled since then. Would she resort to kidnapping to keep him “safe” from the DiMeras?

Ultimately, Boyd shared, that’s what Sophia’s actions boil down to. She’s given birth and even if she hasn’t raised Trey at all, she’s still incredibly protective of him.

Since she “has experienced motherhood to a certain extent,” Boyd says, “anything is actually justified. When the motivation is your offspring and their life, anything is justified.”

That’s all well and good, but Sophia’s in Bayview for a reason. Sure, she may be faking being catatonic, but she’s still very much unwell. Anything may be justified in protecting your child, but what happens when you can’t even make a rational decision about that?

Though, to be fair, as we’re seeing play out on our screens as we speak, being a DiMera, adopted or not, comes with a whole lot of danger!
