The Build Up of Nick’s Addiction
Let’s be honest, Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) downward spiral has to end soon, which means someone is going to get hurt soon. Nick hasn’t been thinking clearly the entire time he and Adam (Mark Grossman) have been in Las Vegas.
The fact that he isn’t himself has led Nick to make dumb mistakes, like playing right into Matt’s (Roger Howarth) hand more than once. It was so easy for Matt to kidnap Nick because of his state, and that move was simply to toy with him.
Y&R preview video teases that Nick passes out while trying to save Sharon (Sharon Case) and Noah (Lucas Adams) from Matt. Noah and Sharon became the latest kidnapping victims on the hit CBS soaps, something that isn’t new for either of them.
While Nick will likely be okay, his passing out doesn’t bode well for his ability to save his family. It is also exactly what Matt was hoping for. Nick’s addiction has given Matt more power to call the shots, and he’s enjoying playing this game with the Newman family.
The two people who are clued into Nick’s drug habit are Adam and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). Unfortunately, Adam put helping Nick on hold to rescue Sharon and Noah, again, precisely what Matt wanted to happen.
Spoilers for the CBS soap reveal that Adam finally confronts his brother. However, with Matt playing Nick and his addiction like a fiddle, can Adam help Nick before he or someone else gets hurt?
At this point, it’s anyone’s guess, but with Matt pulling the strings, Y&R fans can expect things to get more dire for Nick and the Newmans in Las Vegas before they get better. May sweeps are on the horizon, so hopefully Nick will get the help he needs then.
