Who Plays Young and the Restless’ Dr. Laurence Markham?
The Young and the Restless viewers are about to get a real treat when seasoned actor Jere Burns makes an appearance on the CBS soap.

And the best part is, it won’t be just for one episode… TV Insider has learned that Burns will appear for a multi-episode arc starting on Monday, June 15.
So, who will he play and how will the character fit into the mix?
The actor will make his daytime debut in the new role of Dr. Laurence Markham and will cross paths with Diane, who has been missing from Genoa City since May 14.
Some may ask, “Wait a minute, how is Diane missing if she was just seen with Jack during the Beyond the Gates’ crossover?”
As the outlet explained, all of this was due to different production timelines between both soaps.
However, now that the doctor will be turning up, fans should find out very soon what — or who — has kept Diane away.
Burns has over 100 credits to his name and, in fact, this isn’t the first time he’s met Susan Walters…
Back in the late 80s, early 90s, they appeared together in the NBC series Dear John and Walters couldn’t be happier to have this reunion with her former castmate.
“I loved working with Jere Burns on Dear John, so I was thrilled when I was told that we’d be working together again on Y&R,” she stated and went on to express what a “fantastic scene partner” he was to have once again.
