But this time, Phyllis really feels like fate has smiled on her, as if she has won the lottery, when she accidentally touches a secret that can change the entire balance of power that is simmering in Genoa City.
It all starts with a seemingly normal morning at the Grand Phoenix. Phyllis, as usual, is busy with a series of hotel management tasks and supervising the staff, but her mind is always open to new opportunities – especially when there are rumors that someone is back in town or an old rival has just revealed itself.
Feelings of unease and excitement mix with each new stream of information appearing. It was then that a text message flashed across Amanda Sinclair’s phone screen that Phyllis saw.
It was only a brief moment, but for someone as experienced as Phyllis, it was enough to make her realize that an unusual chain of events was quietly taking place.
Unable to let the opportunity pass, Phyllis began to piece together Amanda’s recent actions – the furtive phone calls, the hasty exits from the hotel lobby with a tense face, and especially the overly cautious attitude when someone mentioned Cane Ashby.

Amanda, in an urgent voice, repeatedly emphasized that Cane had to keep the information secret, absolutely not let anyone discover his presence in Genoa City at this time.
Phyllis’s hunch became even more certain. Not only did she determine that Cane was secretly staying in Genoa City, but she also realized that, somehow, Amanda was helping Cane hide something very big.
Phyllis carefully memorized every detail, every small piece, determined to assemble a complete picture, a proof strong enough for her to gain the upper hand.
