Savannah Chrisley Sheds Tears Over Brother Chase in Docuseries Trailer

Chase Chrisley has been candid about his alcohol-free journey, but his hardships were put front and center in the first trailer for ‘The Chrisleys: Back to Reality’, premiering on Sept. 1

Chase Chrisley’s sister Savannah Chrisley is worried about him.

In the first trailer for the Chrisley family’s new Lifetime series The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, which premieres on Sept. 1, Chase’s struggles were directly addressed.

“Chase is not Chase. Like, it’s literally like a blank shell,” Savannah, 27, says of her big brother.

Someone then notes that Chase, 29, “got arrested at a bar.” The moment in question refers to the Gold Drop founder’s arrest in January on a charge of simple battery. At the time, it was reported that the manager of an Atlanta-area Twin Peaks Sports Bar “identified” Chase as the individual who assaulted him, but a police report obtained by PEOPLE indicated that he “was no longer on [the] scene” upon the officers’ arrival.

As Chase’s mugshot hit the screen, Savannah says: “He needs help.”

“There’s a part of me that is so afraid that he’s going to die,” Savannah then shares through tears, adding, “that I’m literally like I don’t even want to try to have a relationship with him.”

Although Chase is not shown addressing the moment on camera, audiences do see the son of Todd and Julie Chrisley placing his head into his hands and rubbing his eyes.

Chase does, however, note that “not having my parents around almost felt like a death.”

Chase announced in March 2025 that he was “almost one month alcohol free.” Later, he opened up to PEOPLE about what inspired this shift.

“Emotionally, I got tired,” he admitted in July of his past drinking habits.

“I got to a point where I was just like, ‘The only person I was hurting was myself.’ It was also disappointing to people that love and care about me the most,” he continued. “But at the end of the day, you have to do it for yourself.”

Further addressing his “difficulty [and] my struggle with alcohol,” the reality star said that it “makes the highs, highs and it makes the lows, lower.”

“I feel like for so long on Chrisley Knows Best, I played a character. Savannah played a character. We all did,” the Chase Chrisley Collection founder continued. “We’re actually being able to be open and vulnerable, and show the highs, and show the lows, and no matter how low we get kicked down, we’re still going to get back [up].”

He also revealed that fans who tune in are “going to get a full breakdown” on everything.

The series, which features Savannah and Chase among its list of executive producers, sees the Chrisley family — including Todd, Julie, Savannah, Chase, Grayson Chrisley, Chloe Chrisley and Nanny Faye Chrisley — navigating life as the longtime couple “are eventually pardoned, released from prison and return home.”

The series “shows a side of the Chrisleys that has never been seen before with exclusive access to the family,” including Julie’s parents, Harvey and Pam, joining the bunch onscreen for the first time.
