Over the years, Devon has been a part of the soul of Genoa City, a keeper of hope and friendship, a person who has been attached to countless events, struggles and deep wounds.

But like many great characters who have gone through the long history of this series, Devon cannot stay in familiar land forever.

When the storm in Nice has not yet subsided, people have witnessed a determined but heavy-hearted Devon, choosing to leave everything to move forward, where Fairmont Crest and the mysteries of Beyond the Gates await. Few expected that the fateful trip to the South of France would be the turning point that changed the fate of so many people in the Genoa City family.

At first, it was just an invitation to a lavish party from Cane Ashby for their most elite friends: Devon, Abby, Nick, Sharon, and a few other familiar names.

They thought it would be a chance to relax, to temporarily forget the pressure of work, the grudges that had lasted for many years at GC, and the losses that had not yet healed.

But in just a short time, Cane Castle turned into a dark and haunting arena where blood was spilled, screams rang out in the night, sudden deaths and despair spread among the guests who once believed they knew each other. Damian Kane’s death actually sowed doubt in everyone.

Devon was not simply a guest – he was a witness to the loss of people who once thought they had the right to judge and control each other.

He saw the collapse in Abby’s eyes, felt Sharon’s unnameable pain when Nick was brutally attacked and fell into the hands of a kidnapper in the cold stone room. Piece by piece, Devon knew that no one was the same after that terrible night.

No one expected Chance to be one of the first victims, and Devon was the one who rushed into the dangerous area to try to save him, but helplessly watched his friend go. The atmosphere of the castle was filled with mourning, suspicions arose when everyone had their own motives, everyone had secrets to hide and were willing to do anything to survive.

MAJOR Spoiler for Bryton James of The Young and the Restless: Devon leaves Genoa City

Devon understood that this trip, for everyone, was not simply a vacation but a journey to face their true nature – including him.

What haunted Devon the most was when all the truth was revealed, he had to admit how quickly trust could collapse.

There were people who seemed to be inseparable, now doubting each other, criticizing each other, even pushing each other to the brink of despair.

Devon once believed that friendship was the only strength that could help him overcome all the losses, but the incident at Castle Cane made him reconsider all those values. In the moment he witnessed Sharon threatened, Nick dying, Damian lying cold and dead on the stone floor, Devon realized that he could not protect the people he loved.
