The appearance of Amanda and Lily inevitably attracts the curious eyes of Damian and Devon Winters, two people who are used to the intricate plots and secrets behind the luxurious walls of the upper class.
Both quietly observe, feeling the unusual tension when Amanda gently pulls Lily aside, her eyes filled with determination, but also full of warning.
“Lily, I need to talk to you alone,” Amanda speaks, her voice low enough to be heard over the music echoing in the hall. Lily is a bit surprised by this initiative, but because she trusts Amanda’s sincerity, she does not resist but only nods in agreement.
The two women walk slowly through the long hallways, the dim lights shining on the ancient statues making everything even more mysterious. Amanda led Lily deep into the maze of the castle grounds, where only those who were truly close or allowed by the owner were allowed to set foot.

She turned to Amanda, her face confused: “Why does Dumas want to see me alone? Is there something so serious that he can’t say it in front of everyone?”
Amanda gently placed her hand on Lily’s shoulder, reassuring: “Trust me, you will get all the answers you need. But right now, you just need to be calm and careful with every word.”
Perhaps Amanda could not hide the worry in her eyes, because she understood better than anyone that Dumas was the type of person who was willing to use any means to achieve his goals.
When the two entered the small room at the end of the maze, Amanda gave space to Lily and quietly closed the door, leaving Lily facing Dumas in a room filled with pale yellow light but cold enough to make her goosebumps.
Dumas stood with his back to Lily, looking at the ancient paintings hanging along the wall, his movements slow like a predator waiting for the right moment to attack.
Lily regained her composure and spoke to break the silence: “It’s great to finally meet you in person. It seems like everyone has been waiting for this for a long time.”
