EXCLUSIVE – BIG RUMOR: 2025 Daytime Emmys winner in top categories leaked ahead of awards show

If you have The Young and the Restless winning multiple categories at the 2025 Daytime Emmys, you’re probably going to do well in your office pool.

Per the latest Gold Derby prediction data, the venerable CBS soap opera has a 73 percent chance of winning Best Drama Series during the Friday ceremony.

2025 Daytime Emmys winner predictions: Peter Bergman, Eileen Davidson

Y&R‘s two competitors — yes, there are only three total this year because of the new rule regarding submissions — are General Hospital with a 21 percent chance and Days of Our Lives with a 6 percent chance.

This would be The Young and the Restless‘ 12th overall victory in Best Drama Series, and its first since 2020. General Hospital has the all-time record in this category with 17 wins, including the last four in a row. Days of Our Lives has won this race four times.

Y&R is also expected to take home trophies for Peter Bergman in Best Drama Actor (75 percent) and Eileen Davidson in Best Drama Actress (64 percent).

Bergman has the nominations record in his category with 25, and he has won three times for playing Jack Abbott in 1991, 1992, and 2002. Davidson is enjoying her fifth career nomination this year; she previously won for playing Ashley Abbott on Y&R in 2018, and for her role as Kristen DiMera on Days of Our Lives in 2014.

The rest of the Best Drama Actor category consists of Dominic Zamprogna as Dante Falconeri on General Hospital (13 percent), Eric Martsolf as Brady Black on Days of Our Lives (6 percent), Greg Rikaart as Leo Stark on Days of Our Lives (4 percent), and Paul Telfer as Xander Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives (4 percent).

Davidson is competing against the following in Best Drama Actress: Nancy Lee Grahn as Alexis Davis on General Hospital (19 percent), Michelle Stafford as Phyllis Summers on The Young and the Restless (8 percent), Sharon Case as Sharon Newman on The Young and the Restless (6 percent), Laura Wright as Carly Spencer on General Hospital (2 percent), and Melissa Claire Egan as Chelsea Lawson on The Young and the Restless (2 percent).

The Best Drama Supporting Actor field is led by Michael Graziadei as Daniel Romalotti on The Young and the Restless, with a 60 percent chance of claiming victory. This would be Graziadei’s first Daytime Emmy statuette.

The other supporting actor nominees are: Gregory Harrison as Gregory Chase on General Hospital (21 percent), Jonathan Jackson as Lucky Spencer on General Hospital (13 percent), Blake Berris as Everett Lynch on Days of Our Lives (4 percent), and Tajh Bellow as TJ Ashford on General Hospital (2 percent).

For Best Drama Supporting Actress, Kate Mansi as Kristina Corinthos-Davis on General Hospital is out front with 82 percent support. Mansi previously won this category in 2017, so she’s now looking for a bookend.

The remaining supporting actress contenders are: Linsey Godfrey as Sarah Horton on Days of Our Lives (6 percent), Courtney Hope as Sally Spectra on The Young and the Restless (6 percent), Susan Walters as Diane Jenkins Abbott on The Young and the Restless (4 percent), and Emily O’Brien as Theresa Donovan on Days of Our Lives (2 percent).

There are two other acting races that combine genders. Alley Mills as Heather Webber on General Hospital is tapped to win Best Drama Guest Performer, which would be her second career victory after 2023.
And Daytime Emmy newcomer Olivia d’Abo as Fifi Garrett on The Bay is feted to win the brand new category of Best Emerging Talent; she represents The Bay‘s only nomination this year.
2025 Daytime Emmy Awards Nominations Revealed
The Gold Derby predictions suggest Best Drama Writing Team and Best Drama Directing Team will go to different soaps, which is a frequent occurrence at the Daytime Emmys.
The Young and the Restless is out front for writing, a race it has won a leading 10 times, including most recently in 2023. General Hospital is the odds leader for directing, and is the category’s all-time champion with 15 victories, including the last five in a row.
Moving over to the non-soap categories, The Kelly Clarkson Show is expected to win its fifth trophies in both Best Talk Series and Best Talk Series Host. Last year, the original American Idol lost the hosting race to Live stars Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos in a bit of a shocker.
Popular hosts and producers Drew Barrymore and Jennifer Hudson are still looking to get on the board with their first career Daytime Emmy wins — maybe next year?
Venerable news program Entertainment Tonight is the odds-on favorite for Best Entertainment News Series and Best Personality (Daily) for emcees Cassie DiLaura, Denny Directo, Kevin Frazier, Nischelle Turner, and Rachel Smith.
As for Best Personality (Non-Daily), that one features an interesting race between frequent Primetime Emmy winner David Attenborough (Secret Lives of Orangutans) and big-time Marvel actor Anthony Mackie (Shark Beach With Anthony Mackie: Gulf Coast).
