The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has officially announced the esteemed nominees for the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards, a premier event celebrating excellence in daytime television.

The prestigious ceremony is scheduled to unfold on the evening of Friday, October 17, taking place in the scenic city of Pasadena, California. Adam Sharp, the President and CEO of NATAS, expressed his excitement for the upcoming event and for honoring the incredible talent that defines the genre.

He highlighted the continuous expansion of the daytime television landscape and the academy’s commitment to evolving with it.

In line with this growth, this year’s awards will feature several brand-new categories designed to recognize boundary-pushing work across the industry.

The Daytime Emmy® Awards, which have been a benchmark for outstanding achievement since 1974, honor a wide array of programming from dramas and talk shows to culinary and courtroom programs.

This year’s event will be a single, unified ceremony produced by NATAS, with Adam Sharp and Lisa Armstrong serving as executive producers.

Rachel Schwartz will oversee the event as the Head of the Daytime Emmy Awards, while the accounting firm Lutz & Carr, LLP ensures the integrity of the competition.

In the highly competitive daytime drama categories, the race for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series features three powerhouses: “Days of our Lives” on Peacock, ABC’s “General Hospital,” and “The Young and the Restless” from CBS.

The lead actress category is filled with exceptional talent, including Sharon Case, Eileen Davidson, Melissa Claire Egan, and Michelle Stafford from “The Young and the Restless,” alongside Nancy Lee Grahn and Laura Wright from “General Hospital.”

For lead actor, nominees include Peter Bergman (“The Young and the Restless”), Eric Martsolf, Greg Rikaart, and Paul Telfer from “Days of our Lives,” and Dominic Zamprogna of “General Hospital.” The supporting performance nominations also feature a wealth of talent from these top shows, recognizing actors like Courtney Hope, Kate Mansi, Michael Graziadei, and Jonathan Jackson.

Furthermore, the academy is introducing a category for Outstanding Emerging Talent, with nominees such as AnnaLynne McCord and Ashley Puzemis. Guest performances are also celebrated, with nods going to veteran actors like Linden Ashby and Clint Howard.

The writing and directing teams for all three major drama series are also nominated, showcasing the collaborative effort behind these beloved stories.

The daytime talk show arena remains a battlefield of titans, with several fan favorites vying for the top prize of Outstanding Daytime Talk Series. Nominees include “The Drew Barrymore Show,” “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” “Live with Kelly and Mark,” and the iconic panel show “The View.”

Naturally, the hosts of these programs are also being recognized, with Drew Barrymore, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and the hosting duos of Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, as well as Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb, all receiving nominations. In the entertainment news sphere, the nominees for Outstanding Entertainment News Series are “Access Hollywood,” “E! News,” “Entertainment Tonight,” and “Extra.”

The on-air talent from these programs is also in the spotlight, with the teams from “Entertainment Tonight” and “Access Hollywood” nominated for Outstanding Daytime Personality – Daily. This highlights the daily dedication required to bring viewers the latest in entertainment news from Hollywood and beyond

Daytime television’s culinary and legal programming continue to captivate audiences with their instructional and dramatic content.

The category for Outstanding Culinary Instructional Series features a delicious lineup, including “Be My Guest with Ina Garten,” “Delicious Miss Brown,” “Emeril Cooks,” “Lidia’s Kitchen,” and “Selena + Restaurant.” This year, NATAS has introduced the Outstanding Culinary Cultural Series category, with inaugural nominees like “BBQ High,” “Chasing Flavor with Carla Hall,” and “TrueSouth.”

The culinary hosts are also celebrated, with nominations for Kardea Brown, Joanna Gaines, Ina Garten, Emeril Lagasse, and Michael Symon. On the legal front, the nominees for Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program include “America’s Court with Judge Kevin Ross,” “Divorce Court,” “Hot Bench,” “Judy Justice,” “Justice For The People with Judge Milian,” and “We The People with Judge Lauren Lake.”

In the realm of science and nature, Netflix and National Geographic lead the pack with nominations for visually stunning series such as “Living with Leopards,” “Secret Lives of Orangutans,” “Secrets of the Neanderthals,” and “National Parks: USA.”

The legendary Sir David Attenborough is nominated for his work on “Secret Lives of Orangutans,” alongside other non-daily personalities like Anthony Mackie and Martha Stewart. The Outstanding Instructional/How-To Program category honors shows that empower viewers, with nominees including “Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse” and “Martha Gardens.”

Finally, the Outstanding Lifestyle Program category features impactful series like “Hack Your Health The Secrets of Your Gut” and “You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment.”

The awards also honor excellence in a variety of other genres and craft categories, celebrating the full spectrum of television production. For Outstanding Arts and Popular Culture Program, nominees include the documentary “Black Barbie” and the pop culture analysis “The Swift Effect.”

The Outstanding Daytime Special category recognizes major television events, with nominations for the “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade” and the “98th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.” Behind the scenes, the technical and creative arts are extensively celebrated, with multiple nominations for shows like “The Drew Barrymore Show,” “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” and “The Young and the Restless.”

These nominations span categories such as Technical Direction, Cinematography, Single and Multiple Camera Editing, Sound Mixing, and Lighting Direction.

Furthermore, the academy recognizes achievements in Art Direction, Costume Design, and Hairstyling and Makeup, acknowledging the artists who create the visual worlds of these beloved programs.
