The Young and the Restless Spoilers: June 20 Recap – Mariah Spirals, Tessa Turns to Daniel, and Chelsea Confronts Adam Over Victor’s Betrayal

This week in The Young and the Restless, Genoa City simmered with buried secrets and emotional implosions. At the heart of Friday’s June 20 episode stood Mariah Copeland, unraveling in real time under the weight of a secret too painful to confess.

Sitting alone at Crimson Lights, the café where her love once bloomed with Tessa, she stared at a silent phone, unable to respond to Tessa’s messages. Her guilt, born of a drunken night with an older man and hazy memories of betrayal, gnawed at her relentlessly.

Though she admitted to crossing paths with someone she shouldn’t have, she couldn’t bring herself to tell Tessa the whole story.

When Tessa tried to press for answers, hoping to understand rather than accuse, Mariah shut down. Panic overtook her.

“It’s not safe for you to know,” she lashed out before fleeing, leaving Tessa stunned and alone. That night, Tessa returned to a cold apartment, Arya’s nursery eerily quiet. Despite the pain, she kept reaching out, texting simple messages of love and hope, but received nothing in return.

Elsewhere, Daniel Romalotti Jr. opened up to his father Danny over dinner at Society. The two men shared a rare moment of vulnerability, discussing Daniel’s struggles as a father post-breakup and his recent creative drought.

Danny urged him to embrace his pain and perhaps turn it into music, to write again and let the healing begin.

Meanwhile, Adam and Chelsea found themselves cautiously aligned at Newman Media, working together on a youth mental health campaign.

Their professional truce brought a warmth they hadn’t felt in years. Chelsea noticed Adam had changed—or so she thought.

But when a damning article targeting Billy Abbott was suddenly published under Adam’s name, Chelsea felt the old patterns returning.

She confronted him, furious and betrayed. Adam, stunned, claimed he had killed the story. But all evidence pointed to Victor—master manipulator—who had gone behind Adam’s back to push his agenda, leaving Adam with the fallout.

Back in Tessa’s world, concern gave way to determination. With Mariah continuing to spiral and refusing to talk, Tessa turned to Daniel.

Their friendship, rooted in creativity and quiet trust, became her lifeline. She confided everything to him—Mariah’s fear, the silence, the suspicion that something far more dangerous had occurred. Together, they began to dig. And one name surfaced: Ian Ward.

The episode ended with Tessa standing beside Arya’s crib, whispering promises to protect her family no matter the cost. She was done waiting for the truth. If Mariah couldn’t share it, Tessa would find it herself—even if it meant uncovering something she wasn’t ready to hear.
