Who Is Daytime’s Most Intolerable Character? Here’s Your Chance to Call It Like You See It
Just like in life, there are people who rub you the wrong way, there are soap characters that work your last nerve. Today we’re going to decide once and for all which of them is the most intolerable. How?
By putting forth five more than worthy contenders for the title from Bold & Beautiful, Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, Beyond the Gates and Young & Restless, and inviting you to vote in the poll below. And if your pick isn’t on the list? You can simply write in their name in the comments. Now, onto the nominees…
Days of Our Lives’ Sarah
The doctor thinks that she’s never fully dressed without a halo. But it isn’t sitting quite right on her head, not since Xander’s holier-than-thou wife spent months lying to him, pressured Stephanie to sink her own relationship to keep the lie from being exposed and nonetheless insists that she did nothing wrong.
General Hospital’s Drew
What makes Willow’s Machiavellian fiancé so galling isn’t the long list of misdeeds — although that certainly doesn’t help. It’s the fact that, despite his being a card-carrying rat bastard, Congressman Cutthroat still walks around Port Charles thinking that he’s not just one of the good guys but the greatest of ’em.
Beyond the Gates’ Ashley
Nurse, heal thyself. Derek may not have been the ideal roommate, but his girlfriend sure didn’t make it easy — or appealing — to get better at cohabiting before they went their separate ways. Her outsized reaction to her snitched lunch and scratched fridge makes Dani seem even-tempered and reasonable by comparison.
Bold & Beautiful’s Ridge
Heads don’t get any more swelled than the one that sits atop the self-absorbed dressmaker’s shoulders. Stephanie’s favorite son is so confident that he’s God’s gift to women that he doesn’t even question why Brooke and Taylor have spent decades revolving their whole lives around him.
Young & Restless’ Victor
Considering the way that The Mustache runs around bullying those who are less powerful — and everyone is less powerful than him! — it’s a wonder that he’s only been shot in the groin once. What’s most irksome about him, though, is probably the fact that his lips are incapable of forming the words “I was wrong.”
OK, so which of our nominees do you think is daytime’s most intolerable character? Cast your vote below.
