The Young And The Restless Spoilers Tuesday January 6 – Y&R Recap Full 1/6/2026

Nick’s attempt to bring Matt Clark to justice ends in disaster when Matt attacks him and escapes, while Phyllis reveals a bold and risky plan involving Marchetti that puts her at odds with Daniel and possibly everyone else on this episode of The Young and the Restless (Tuesday, January 6, 2026).

The GCAC Dining Room

Phyllis calls Michael and leaves him a voicemail, asking him not to ghost her. She wants him to call her back.

Daniel overhears and asks why the person she called would be ghosting her.

Phyllis asks him to join her for a meal and wishes him a Happy New Year. They sit at a table. She ignores his question and asks him what he’s up to. She’s concerned; last year was hard on him, so she hopes he’s going to start this one on the right foot.

Daniel says it was a painful last year since he lost Heather. He wasn’t sure he wanted to move forward, but things “shifted” for him and Lucy. Maybe he can even be happy, and he thinks Heather would have wanted it that way.

Phyllis grins. Does Tessa have anything to do with this? She’s concerned that Daniel is going down a very foolish road… He can’t crash and burn now! She asks if Tessa has gotten a divorce yet.

Daniel asks why she’s so concerned… Why won’t she answer his questions?

Phyllis shrugs it off. If Tessa makes Daniel happy, then she’s happy.

Daniel asks what her phone call was about… Was it with Billy or Cane?

Phyllis says that she wouldn’t speak to them… Neither Billy or Cane is trustworthy!

Daniel laughs. That’s funny, she was telling him how trustworthy they were before. He figures her phone call must have been about the AI software.

Phyllis tells him to stop it and get off her back! She says she’s doing something now that’s not selfish. She lowers her voice and says that Billy and Jack have asked her to save Jabot from Victor. She’ll get something for her efforts, though.

Daniel hopes that everything she’s doing is going to be above-board. She just said that she doesn’t trust Billy, so why is she teaming up with them? He hopes it’s not for a selfish reason.

Phyllis says she’s doing the job in exchange for Jack giving ownership of Marchetti to Summer… And that’s not selfish at all!

Daniel is surprised. That isn’t selfish at all!

Phyllis says she does it all for her children. She misses Summer, but knows that she’s thriving in Italy.

Daniel asks if Summer getting control of Marchetti was what Phyllis was talking about when she said that she was working on something to bring their family together.

Phyllis nods. She wants Marchetti to be their family empire. It’s fashion now, but later on they could add media to the mix, and maybe there would be a place for Daniel, Lucy, and Harrison there.

Daniel asks if Summer knows about the plan yet.

Phyllis says that the plan needs to come together before she tells Summer.

Daniel asks if the voicemail she was leaving was about this, and Phyllis freaks out. “Why are you asking me about this?” Daniel sighs and says that it’s no wonder that nobody trusts her. He’s glad that his mom is helping Summer, but tells her not to blow it up. No more scheming!

Phyllis asks why he has a problem with her playing hardball.

Daniel says it’s because she never wins at the games she plays; she either gets hurt or hurts the people she gets close to. She doesn’t need to prove herself to these people!

Phyllis says she deserves the respect she’s looking for.

Daniel says people don’t always get what they deserve. He reminds her that he and Lucy have had to accept a world where Heather is gone. They were lucky that they had Phyllis, Summer, Paul, and even Tessa to help them!

Phyllis apologizes; she’s sorry that Heather’s not there anymore.

Daniel wishes she was too, but he’s happy to live in the present. He knows his mom doesn’t want his advice, but he tells her to stop manipulating Jack and Billy in her favor. Maybe if she proceeds truthfully, she’ll get the output she wants!

Phyllis shrugs. It just doesn’t work that way! She pays the bill and tells Daniel that she has to fight back. Everyone in town has laughed at her and smeared her reputation. Sheer force of will is how she’s gotten everything in her life! The only people she can trust are Daniel, Summer, and Lucy. She’s going to get what she wants… But she needs Daniel’s help!
